| | | | posted 06/28/2010 NSLL Volunteer of the Year - Frank Spoto
If there was ever a person meant to coach Little League Baseball, it is Frank Spoto. Frank has been a member of the North Stamford Little League Board for over 10 years and has served a number of roles including league commissioner, vice president, coach, manager and overall go-to guy.
His knowledge, respect, commitment and passion to the game and our league, is second to none. I believe it’s safe to say, that pretty much, every little leaguer and parent of NSLL, wished and hoped, that Frank was their son or daughter’s, were being coach by him.
Frank is a great student of the game. He teaches the fundamentals of the game of baseball the right way. He is demanding but fair and truly loves each and every one of his players. Anyone who has ever played for Frank has earned his respect and gratitude.
Frank’s dedication to NSLL, when not coaching is second to none. During his free time, he’s always working on the field at Chestnut Hill Park. He’s the guy who put up the score board, pitch counter, batting cage and is constantly upgrading the field so that all the kids have the best little league experience.
Frank has coached a number of teams for our league championship over the years, but, most importantly, he instilled teamwork, a winning attitude and fun for all the kids who played for or against him. He is the epitome of little league baseball and what it represents.
Don Rossi
President, NSLL
